Pendulums are often used as tools for spiritual healing and inner growth. It is a crystal attached to the end of a metal chain.
When asked a question, it swings back and forth or in a circular motion to give an answer. It is important to familiarize yourself with the pendulum before using it and ask questions to which you already know the answers, so you will be able to understand the answers given directly to YOU.
How to use the pendulum?
Holistic healers use the pendulum to measure energy fields or as a divination tool.
Pendulum cleaning: Cleansing the pendulum can be done by holding it under running cold tap water, soaking it in sea salt, or making a mental intention to rid it of any potential absorbed energy. After cleaning the pendulum, carry it with you to see how it feels.
Understand directional swings: the pendulum swings in vertical straight lines, horizontal straight lines and circular motions. This can be done side by side, front and back, clockwise, counterclockwise, elliptical, or even up and down, often indicating strong affirmative action.
Define the responses of the pendulum: assign an "answer" to each direction by first asking the pendulum to show you what certain answers look like. For example, start by asking, "What does NO look like?" and then, "What does YES look like?" Asking the pendulum these questions will help you identify the directional swings that need to happen before moving on to more complex questions.
Pendulum responses examples:
Vertical swing means NO
Horizontal swing means YES
Circular motion means NEUTRAL
Prepare questions: The question should be one that can be answered with a positive, negative or neutral answer.
Example of a good question:
"Will I be offered the job where I went for the interview today?"
Example of a bad question:
Will my pregnant woman give birth to a boy or a girl?
Set Intentions: A prayer or statement must be made before the question session. For example, it can be as simple as saying something like, "My intention is to get honest answers that will benefit everyone involved."
Questions to ask before and in between: Be prepared to ask several questions to get enough information to help you search for comprehensive answers. Be sure to stop the pendulum completely between questions to clear any lingering energies related to the previous question.
